Everything You Need to Know About SWEM
Discover how ARMA SWEM monitors, analyzes and optimizes solar and wind energy assets through one intelligent platform.
Frequently Asked Questions
1Can SWEM monitor plants with inverters from different manufacturers?
Yes. Vendor neutrality is the reason the platform exists. Data from every brand is normalised into a single asset and tag model on arrival, so plants running different equipment are directly comparable on the same KPIs.
2Can I monitor plants in different locations from one account?
Yes. Multi-site portfolio monitoring is built in, with plant-to-plant comparison and role-based access for owners, asset managers and field teams.
3How deep does the monitoring go?
Down to the string and combiner box. A plant total hides an underperforming inverter, so SWEM monitors at string level and compares inverters against each other within the plant.
4Can I build my own reports and dashboards?
Yes. The embedded business intelligence engine lets you build interactive dashboards and custom analyses inside SWEM, without an external reporting tool.
5Which communication protocols does SWEM support?
Modbus TCP and RTU, IEC 60870-5-104, MQTT and OPC-UA, alongside REST-based data sources — the standards already used by inverters, meters, weather stations and plant SCADA systems.
6Does SWEM include maintenance and spare parts management?
Yes. Maintenance planning, work orders, equipment records and spare-parts inventory are part of the platform rather than separate products.
7What size and type of plant is SWEM built for?
Utility-scale solar plants, commercial rooftop systems, industrial facilities and distributed portfolios — from a single site to hundreds.
8Do we need to replace our existing SCADA or OEM systems?
No. ARMA-Wind reads from your existing SCADA and OEM portal environments using standard industrial protocols — Modbus, OPC UA, IEC 60870-5-104 and MQTT — designed to work across mixed-OEM environments without replacing what you already run.
9What will the demo actually show?
A walkthrough of the Fleet Dashboard, Turbine Overview, Power Curve Analysis and Alarm Management views, mapped to your site layout and OEM stack, using sample data where live integration hasn't been configured yet.
10Can this work across multiple OEMs and sites?
Yes — the current platform is focused on onshore wind fleets across multiple sites and mixed-OEM environments. Offshore, hybrid wind + storage and battery-integrated deployments are on our roadmap but not yet supported.
11Is this only for maintenance, or also performance and reporting?
No. The platform covers fleet-wide monitoring, early issue detection, power-curve and production analysis, and availability reporting in one operating layer.
12How does integration work without disrupting live operations?
ARMA-Wind connects as a read layer over existing protocols. Integration is scoped and phased per site, without interrupting live SCADA operations.
13Why request a demo now instead of later?
The demo takes about 30 minutes and walks through how ARMA-Wind would surface underperformance and threshold alerts using a sample of your own fleet's data — a concrete way to evaluate fit before any integration work begins.
